Content Contributors Wanted!
We have a forum at: http://gcpac.lefora.com/ . This is for folks that aren't into Facebook but it is difficult for me to cross post everything between facebook, this blog and the forum. I'm looking for a couple people to take over and own the forum, make it your own. Heck, you can even change the platform if you'd like! :)
Also, this blog platform would be a great place for multiple contributors, not just me parroting club news. If you'd like to be a blog contributor, let me know and I'll set you up an account!
Also, anyone interested in organizing events, get with me and I'll make sure you have all of the logins you need to create events on the site and facebook group.
Machines in the Wild
Port City Mini Golf in Downtown Mobile have a Mortal Kombat, Area 51, Big Buck Hunter, Cruisin' World, Sunset RIders and a multicade available to play. Rumors have it pinballs are coming soon as well. Let's definitely try and support this local business, it is great to see a business like this flourish.
New York Pizza (formerly Papa's Pizza in Daphne) has a new Namco Jurassic Park machine, go check it out and have some awesome pizza!
Industry Stuff
Stern has released that their next new game will be Game of Thrones. They will be rolling off the assembly line this month. There are rumors of a January Ghostbusters pin based on the 1984 movie, also a coming vault edition of an existing game but nothing solid on that.
Jersey Jack Pinball is making strides on the upcoming release of The Hobbit. Also, they received some investment dollars recently so I expect that will help with some of their development timing issues.
Spooky Pinball is making a Rob Zombie Spookshow International Pin.
Planetary Pinball is expected to announce soon what their next remake will be. Rumors point to either Attack from Mars or Monster Bash.
Namco is having problems keep up with demand for their $30,000 Star Wars Battle Pod, so they are also releasing a smaller, non-dome version of the game that is similar to a sit-down race game.
Angry Birds Arcade is a real thing. It's an analog game where you knock things down. Basically a horizontal claw machine.
Pixels received an Oct 27th DVD release date but will release on iTunes a couple of weeks early.
Member Activity
I try to not to spread 'everyone's business' unless it applies to the group, so more stuff has happened but here are some highlights..
Charlie got his hands on some classic games of various states of repair and has some games for sale. Ping him for a list of what might be for sale and asking prices! Hint: there is a Tron! :)
Caitlin and Marshall have added some new games to the collection, a Toobin', a Sharky's Shootout top the list, fun stuff!
Chris is looking to trade a skee ball for something that takes up a little less room, reach out to him if you have something to trade!
Allen has a Stern Spiderman for sale. It is hands down the nicest condition Spider-man that I've ever seen.
I bid farewell to Pin2k SWEp1 and moved in something larger and more unique.
And remember, when dealing with Craigslist people, if they won't talk to you on the phone, they are probably a scam. If they pay you up front and plan to have 'their mover' pick it up, they are most likely a scam. If they use horrible grammar via text-and-email they are most likely a scam! if it seems too good to be true, it probably is! if you run across a local scammer, let us know and we'll spread the word.
Events
Our August meeting ended up happening late in the month. Our original plan for September was to have a meetup at Adventure Island in Orange Beach and play games and pins between there and Fat Daddy's. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get the Adventure Island people to commit to being open on a particular day. I guess they keep flex hours off-season but I'm not giving up on doing this at some point, still.
Pinball Get Together, Friday, October, 9th in Spanish Fort
Allen and Lorie moved here from Atlanta where they were part of a very active Pinball players community. A small group of us have been getting together for impromptu Pinball nights and Allen and Lorie have offered to have us over to play some pinball on Friday October, 9th anytime after 6 pm.
Their machines are beautiful, they have a Gorgar, Avatar, Pirates of the Carribean and Spiderman available to play. This will be more of an adult-friendly outing, BYOB. We will hang out and maybe play some competitive play if enough folks can make it and are interested!

Bowling
It seems like Arcades and Pinballs and Bowling all go hand-in-hand. The modern bowling alley's are more targeted to modern video games and redemption stuff but I believe it's important to support our local arcade-friendly businesses. I've been talking to the owner of Eastern Shore lanes about doing some nights at the bowling Alley. I don't have dates yet but I'll add them to the events site when I do. My question to the group, would you like to participate in a full-on bowling league (I think we have enough people) or would you prefer to do sporadic bowling nights?
New Members and Outreach
Our Facebook group is up to 50 members, the email list has 21, the pinball league signup form and 13 people interested in Pinball league play.
The site averages about 120 page views per day over 50 or so unique visitors.
We've been distributing flyers to local businesses that might attract like-minded enthusiasts. Video game stores, card shops, retro gaming businesses, arcades, etc. If you'd like to print or send the flyers around, you can download the .pdf below. I also have some printed occasionally at Staples and can meet any interested members to give you some printed ones to distribute.
