First thing's first: ACTION NEEDED: We have new website forms for 'signing up.' Please use them.
I revamped our sign-up forms (front end and back end) and I'm not going to import the old entries into the new system for a variety of reasons that would bore you to know. If you'd like to be periodically kept up to date by email (or text) about local Pinball & Arcade happenings, please take a moment to jump over to the new sign up form and fill it out. Please do this even if you have previously filled out the form, so that we have your updated information and preferences. Promise, we won't spam you or sell your info in any way.
The General Club Member Form is here:

By filling out the above form you are helping us to target events and content to the group more appropriately based on interest.
In addition to the general club form above, we have two other forms that you might be interested in opting into. Again, if you had previously opted in to these, please do so again, this is a little bit of a fresh start so as to collect some profile and preference information about our members.
The Pinball List is primarily a list of people looking to get together for pinball play (location, tournament, competitive or otherwise).

The Arcade List, is primarily a list of people looking to get together for arcade play (location, tournament, competitive or otherwise).

Basically, if you don't sign up for this stuff, we won't have a way to keep you up to date for awesome future events, gathering, etc. As always, we will keep the communications at a minimum, averaging no more than 5 per year.
I've got some plans for future website updates, however, the majority of our interaction is through other means (facebook, text, pinside, klov), so I don't like spending a ton of time on the site that isn't used much. Your feedback, however, is always appreciated and wanted!
Upcoming Events
Looking at the event calendar, there are numerous awesome opportunities for competitive pinball in the coming weeks and months from other clubs and leagues in our region. A tournament in Houma, LA this weekend, one in Fultondale, AL next month.
Check and stay tuned to the event page: http://www.gulfcoastpinballandarcade.com/events/ for more events and happenings.

In June, several of us attended the Southern Fried Gameroom Expo in Atlanta.

Industry Stuff
In the last few months, we've seen Heighway Pinball & Dutch Pinball continuing to struggle and falter. We've seen Spooky show promising new talent and fresh perspectives with Total Nuclear Annihilation. We've seen JJP building and delivering games on (or even ahead)of schedule. We've seen American Pinball show a promising future with Houdini. We've seen Planetary Pinball shipping AFMr. We've seen Stern shipping games like crazy and the much-anticipated release of Star Wars Pinball.
Summary
That's about it for our summer wrap-up. It looks like our neighboring groups and leagues have plenty of opportunity to play pinball, though it doesn't seem like there are very many arcade gatherings for us to pick from outside of these larger shows. I'll freely admit that I've done a poor job of putting up public events for the group, I could definitely use some help arranging and organizing activities for the group. If you'd like to volunteer for that, contribute to this blog or in other ways - hit me up by email, arcadeshenanigans@graffitlogic.com.
